  2. Catagen (transition) – The catagen phase is a short transition period and lasts typically for about 2 weeks. This stage marks the end of active growth, and the hair stops growing anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks prior to falling out, which takes another 4 weeks.
  3. Telogen (resting) – The telogen phase is a resting stage. This period is initiated by the release of chemicals from the body to direct the hair follicle into a resting state, where it remains until it falls out. The hair rests and does not grow for about 3 months (about 10% of people’s hair) but can vary from 2 to 6 months.
  4. Exogen (shedding) – The exogen phase is the last stage of the hair growth cycle, and it lasts for 2-3 months. This stage is also known as shedding, when the old hair falls out and a new hair begins to grow in its place. During this stage, 10%-15% of your hair is in transition at any point of time.

How To Promote a Healthy Hair Growth Cycle
